Guda Gang is a LA hip-hop duo comprised of Black Johnson, who is a member of the Bounty Hunter Watts Bloods and Sinister Six, who is from the Grape Street Watts Crips. Guda Gang is an ode back to the 1992 Watts truce, which was a peace agreement between rival Watts gangs reached just days before the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Unfortunately, both Black Johnson and Sinister Six are currently serving lengthy prison sentences stemming from murder, manslaughter, robbery, drug and weapons charges. Many so-called “gangsta rappers” make music based off the lifestyle's of their homies or other active gang members they've personally witnessed, but when it comes to Guda Gang it literally doesn’t get any realer than this. At the end of the day this project represents something much deeper than Watts and both emcees individual skill level. It showcases the horrors of living a full fledged street life and the consequences that come attached with being an active gang member. Recorded in 2014 before Black Johnson and Sinister Six were incarcerated.
